Splendours of western Bhutan 7D/6N

Trip Overview:

This tour is available around the year.

Splendours of western Bhutan 7D/6N Cost:

Bhutan Visa fee is US $ 40 per person per trip.

Tour Cost Includes:

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Phuentsholing

Meeting assistance, Briefing and Introduction.

Overnight at Hotel, Phuntsholing.

Day 2: Phuentsholing ~ Thimphu

After breakfast visit the Immigration Office to get the visa stamp on passport and drive to Thimphu. Stop for lunch at Dam view restaurant. Afternoon continue drive to Thimphu.

Overnight at Hotel, Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu ~ Wangdi ~ Phobjikha

After breakfast sightseeing Thimphu Valley includes, visit to: Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, Handicrafts Emporium, National Library, Painting School, Traditional Medicine Institute, City Viewpoint, Traditional paper Factory, Mini zoo, Folk heritage Museum, Textile Museum. Afternoon drive to Phobjikha across the Dochula pass (3,116 m) stop for tea and snacks at Dochula cafeteria and view the Eastern Himalayas with the highest mountain in Bhutan.

Overnight in Farm House, Phobjikha.

Day 4: Phobjikha ~ Wangdi ~ Punakha

Early morning observe black neck crane and after breakfast visit Gangtey Gonba and drive to Punakha en-route visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong.

Overnight in Hotel, Punakha.

Day 5: Punakha ~ Thimphu ~ Paro.

After breakfast visit Punakha Dzong and hike and visit to Khamsum Yuley Namgyal Temple. Afternoon drive to Paro.

Overnight in Hotel, Paro.

Day 6: Paro.

Morning excursion/hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery. Afternoon visit to: Kyichu Lhakhang, Drugyel Dzong (view the mount. Jomolhari), Ta Dzong (National Museum), Rimpung Dzong, Dungtsey Lhakhang and Stroll in Paro town.

Overnight in Hotel, Paro.

Day 7: Paro ~ (Departure)

After breakfast transfer to Airport and farewell for the onward journey.

  • What to bring for a trek in Bhutan?

    1. Personal clothing: strong normal clothing (according to season). Preferably cotton, even for summer, woolen clothing for the evening and winter.
    2. Strong comfortable trekking boots – water-resistant for the rainy period-June-August.
    3. Sunscreen.
    4. Flash light.
    5. Rain coat (especially for rainy period –June-August).
    6. Head gear/hat/cap; sun and rain protection.
    7. Water pills – for extra caution in purifying stream; (boiled water is provided at all times during the trek).
    8. Aspirin – incase of altitude sickness.
    9. Lots of socks.
    10. Warm clothes.

